Pop-Up Book Artists

Pop-up book artists, also often referred to as paper engineers, are illustrators who create three dimensional images while using the mechanics of folded paper. They develop visual imagery that helps illuminate a story, and they develop affective ways to make that imagery physically rise from the pages of a book as those pages are being opened.

Below are some resources related to some of the top pop-up book artists or paper engineers present and past. In some cases, the pop-up book artist created the images and engineered the pop-ups; in other cases, a different artist created the images while the paper engineer designed the pop-up actions.
